I went with an high expectation for
a saurabh Shukla play and ended up snoring for 20 mins during the play.
IAM a theatre addict.. Full accolades to them for months of rehearsal and then putting a productive t on a platter with no retakes noise colour correction and vfx.
But the first time in my entire life I slept off during a play. I watch it no matter how bad it is but this one don't know why just put me to sleep with its lullaby dialogues. Saurabh with his lazy hang your head down body language just did not justify the direction.
On a serious topic this ended up as a caricature. Iravati harshe Needs to go back to acting school.
Saurabh Shukla desperately needs a fresh dialogue writer .
The supporting cast was okay.. The daughter-in-law was dead pan with no deleverances.
Overrated with the hype leaves you craving that jab khuli kitaab to likhna bhee zaroori hain .
Full marks to art department and lights!
I live in a country where an eight year old is drugged , raped and murdered .. This heinous crime is justified and protected in the NAME OF RELIGION .
MY QUESTION what is the meaning of religion ?
The Google meaning : - the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods.
So what's the correlation between rape and religion ? How does raping justify in the name of religion ?
But right now I can't even imagine what the little godchild asifa must have gone through
.. I say , you say , we all say she didn't deserve such a sad death .. but according to some religion says it was a fair death !!@
I say HUMANITY WAS DRUGGED RAPED AND MURDERED IN THE MOST HORRIBLE WAY
I am a huge fan of byomkesh bakshi , my attraction for the series is because I kind of like the description I am not a detective but a truth seeker ...
So what's the truth ? and reason behind these murders is what he tries to find out . There have been quite a lot of actors who have played this role .. The latest is
Dhritman chatterjee ..
The actors are all kickass and known .. konkona , indraniel and the plot is gobhir ( thick)
This particular killings was also compared to jack the ripper ... interesting plot and series but the people dying were non entities .. hence it was inconsequential as to why the murders . It felt that these were random killings that the killer chose .
It's only when the lady from the theatre is killed the plot starts thickening and one starts linking the killer to the theatre group.
The ending was a bit lame and average as the killer's motive and way of killing is questionable.
What I could not connect was an old foggy detective and the slow Shakespearian way of dialogue delivery by Dhritman compared to the earlier byomkeshes .. Would have loved a crisp and more natural dialogue delivery . Ajit was inconsequential too .. had no role or no reason to be there .
Indraniel was fresh and handsome ... I kind of liked the scene of stage performance ...
Konkona is by far a very underrated actress ... but her expressions are becoming monotonous if u watch her movies back to back one can relate to what I am trying to say ... she needs to reinvent herself for her own sake ..
The make up of byomkesh in the last scene was uggs !!
Overall average .. still kept me seeking for truth though the case was closed and resolved ..
Okay I was keen to watch this movie from the day I saw the trailer . But unfortunately in bombay it's very difficult to access bengali movie in theatres .
So the moment I found it on Netflix .. voila ... tres bien moi was superrrr happy . So I sat down with a chilled coke and started watching this movie .. MAACHER JHOL.
Mind it though maacher jhol a simple fish curry for the bengali is the most complex ed dish I gave ever come across . Like the french cooking bengali food is less ingredients and more flavour . So its a challenge to get the consistency , flavour and taste of a maacher jhol bang on . Every bengali lobes dhier maacher jhol Bhaat. Bottom line u want to impress a bengali girl or guy ... GET YOUR JHOL RIGHT
But I was a bit disappointed with the movie ... I thought the story line will also be the same as the jhol .. Unfortunately a big khichudi ! The chef girl , the journalist , stealing of bori and the old buro butler being made to sleep in the common passage.
The first meeting of mother and son after 13 years was just for seconds ... whoop! !!! I wanted emotions and deep connect in that scene.... but it was the same gheesa peeta stuff .. about weight and girlfriend period .😌
Why was the hotel girl chef added ? What was her contribution and why was she needed .. stupid and immature .
I thought pauli dham was great .. resilient and matter of fact . The French girl hmmmm ... can't say much about her
Cooking , relationship and bonding go hand in hand .Wanted this movie to have a common thread and knots unfolding like the fish wrapped in bannana leaf ... slowly and delicately ... its just that there were too many knots to open which could have been done away with ...
Over all the movie was good for plating but somehow a ingredient was missing and hence the taste was half felt on the tongue .
Ritwik .. The aloof rebellious bong man suits u to the T
Bon appetite !
Party by govind nihalani 1984
Just watched it today ... A super cult movie with a star cast that's mind blowing ..
The likes of shafi inamdar , vijaya mehta and so on ....
Difficult to fathom that some of these veteran actors are no more . But their footprints of artistry will remind us about them for decades ..
The fact that the movie is an eye opener for censor boards and political parties . A major part of the movie talks about the writer/ poet - Amrit who takes off to the jungles to protect the tribal people and their land from govt and the political goons . In the process a mild artist turns into a revolutionary who gets not only murdered but his tongue is cut off as he stands up against the land grabbing politicians.
Whilst there is this man who is fighting against the govt.. An urban group of people in the 4 closed walls debates superficially on issues that they have neither experienced nor touched .
The most amazing part about this movie is the naked truth of life ,
And the fact that the government allowed this movie to see the day light compared to the current situation where the govt gets involved in each and every artistic expression .
In the end would like to like to ponder on what om puri states ...
