Natalie and ralphs love story

 I don't know if it's real or fictitious but the story goes like this 

Ralph a super rich man- 49 yrs old man falls in love with his house maid who I think was of the same age. 

Natalie initially was skeptical for 2 reasons -1 status difference and 2 was not sure if Ralph was serious about her. 

But good natured Ralph won her and they started dating secretly bcos Natalie did not want to be the fodder of gossip in her town .

One Natalie 's daughter found out about her mother and Ralph.  She was furious and gave her mother the ultimatum to break away bcos the whole town was talking about Natalie. 

Since her daughter was pregnant , Natalie decided to meet Ralph and tell him. 

Though Ralph turned up for that meeting Natalie did not show up .

For 20 yrs Ralph showed up at their favourite coffee shop everyday waiting for his Natalie. 

As it happens the girl working at the coffee shop turns out to be the grand daughter of Natalie.  Amanda tells Ralph that Natalie had moved  years ago to another city along with her Natalie 's daughter and Amanda. 

But Natalie till date regrets for giving up on Ralph.  

Amanda takes Ralph and does the honor of uniting the love birds .

The writer mentions that Natalie regretted caring about the community talks and gossips , for which she had to leave Ralph. 

But I think Natalie left Ralph because of thr daughter who had set an ultimatum to her . For the love of her child she decided to forget her man .

The daughter was selfish and self centered . From what I understand she was single mother and was afraid to raise her child on her own . Hence she asked her mother to sacrifice her love . She herself did not live for long . Natalie raised Amanda.  

Very often it's not the society's pressure but the pressure of loved ones that we give up on things . It's our loved ones who ask us for the sacrifices .

Kudos to Amanda for uniting 2 loved souls.

The news of a 17 soon to turn 18 yr old boy driving an unregistered car , without license ,under the influence of heavy alcohol,  with the parents and grandparents blessings,  a driver sitting in the passenger seat drives at a speed of 200 pkm... rams straight into 2 young adults without helmets on the bike in an unfortunate case are found spot dead with the impact . The boy tries a clean escape but India ka janata takes law into their own hands ... catches the guy and beats him up whilst waiting to  hand him over to the police.

The boy , bar owner, manager , waiter doorman are. arrested.

Furthermore the boy at the police station is served pizzas and burgers between the incident and filing thd fir .....is served pizzas and burgers , much after 6 hours the FIR is written ...  9 hours later the blood sample is taken and within 14 hours is released on bail .  All this is with the help of  officers and politicians. 

The toxic report states no alcohol in the blood stream is presented in court. 

 The juvenile justice Court  grants bail with a tiny rap with a piece of 300 words and 15 days rto training. What about the other 3 nobody knows.... nobody cares !!!!

The punekars raise a big hue and cry seeking justice for the dead asking pertaint question...  what was the basis of granting bail when there are pure evidences of this boy was found under the influence of alchohol and killing two young adults ?

The case draws the attention of common people . Suddenly the cookie crumbles and the ants are out of the anthill to bite the white elephants ....

Now the case begins !!!

Policeman loses his job !! Poor guy what a nightmare for him ... from a puppet to a dead duck !!!

A search for the father of the son is on as he goes absconding.  He is found in aurangabad in a hotel and is immediately arrested . The father after the incident absconds changing cars and locations is finally found in aurangabad ... guess watched on you tube " how to evade arrest" . 

Silly man !! All he had to do was fly out of the country he would have never been caught !!!!! 

Kudos to the policemen who btw suddenly got into action after a lackadaisical approach .

The grandfather is arrested on the charges of coaxing , blackmailing ,bribing the driver to take the rap instead of his grandson . 

Further arrests were the forensic doctors and u wonder why ??? It's because they tampered with the toxic report for some moolah ehem bribe  ehem hush money  !!!! 

The latest...the  mother has been arrested too on the charges of swapping her blood sample with her son 's at the hospital.

"Maa ka pyaar Shalimar" . She was all out to save her son ... did not think of the mother's of the dead decease . Prior to her arrest in a viral video she claimed her son is innocent and the accident video is fake and tampered .

She claims that she did not know why did the doctors ask for her blood sample !!! 

Btw

The juvenile court judge's judgement is questioned .

The FIR written by the police is questioned .

The way this case has been handled by the police is questioned . 

But the biggest question is for the failed system !!! 

All the high profile cases get hushed and dusted off under the carpet !!

Do I want the policeman , father , judge,  politician to be legally punished ??? All I want is more heads to roll instead of the bar manager , waiter and the door man who are being made scapegoats.

What I want is collate last 6 months high profile hit and run cases and deliver justice !!! 

This should be a landmark case so that no other person under the influence will ever drink and speed drive. I would gladly include the speeding guys and gurls , men and women to keep an adrenal check too !! They should not go Scott free .

But then will justice be served or this case will be another cold turkey !!!

 Tere bin - pakistani drama .

After the korean dramas , pakistani dramas are really good . If they rectify the few flaws in their story line , I think they can produce some kickass family dramas . 

Let's talk about tere bin Meerum and Murtisim . Fabulous acting , they really worked on their characters . One can see them getting into the skin of their respective character.

However the character arch of the rest of the artists are truly questionable . The mother she was a wishy washy woman who could not resolve   personal problems , yet she single handedly ran the estate . 

Meerum's biological father was not only a spineless man but a pathetic actor . The scene where he tells murtisim " meri beti aisi naheen hain " oofff over dramatic , could not deliver the scene at all . The last scene rather than a devastated father , he looked more like a drunk devdas!! 

Same goes for meerum 's foster father and mother . 

The last 2 episodes could have been written better. It was a stale wimpy ending . 

I would have liked murtisi. bumping into meerum at court hearing , where she was arguing a case and murtism once again is awestruck . He starts his journey of knowing the truth and when he finds meerum with a child is shell shocked . The demure of meerum also takes a drastic change . She is now more calm and composed .  He requests meerum to come home but she refuses . She is equally shocked to see a changed murtusim .  In the meanwhile,  maasaab  fixes his wedding with haya ,  he listens to it quietly and walks away.  

Meerum's friend informs her about murtusim ' s s marriage to haya . She tells her how her going away has affected Murtusim. She is lost in her thoughts , contemplating what to do next .

At the wedding moment meerum appears ,she refuses to neither share nor give the consent to murtusim for a second marriage .

All misunderstandings are cleared and they reunite.  

This would have given a clear msg that meerum now has managed a lucrative career , she walks into the marriage as an equal. 

Nevertheless it was fun watching tere bin .

What an iconic song and a even better comeback !!!

It was back in my early teens we had late night TV - hottracks and then video cassettes of urotop50 . Thanks to this I got introduced to these amazing songs . Phil Collins,  Madonna,  micheal Jackson,  my all time favourite George micheal .

It was just a visual and audio treat to listen to her sing this song once again at the grammys.  What's more interesting is today's singers with all the glitz   glamour,  tricks make up etc here were 2 singers in sinple black and blue outfit with no glitz and glamour   extra dancing belted out this noteworthy song which was magical . 

All I can say is this song's lyrics resonates with us even today ... 

Listening to her songs in loop !!!

The conflict between father and son leads to the son becoming obsessed about his father . He is my modern day raavan ... protective about his dad   sister and family . 

Rashmika is a great actor  , especially in her last scene with Ranbir confessing about Zoya!! She nailed it !

The pind Brothers need a special applause for their acting ... rawness , comic timing and the portrayal of brotherhood !!! Kudos to the casting director . 

Vanga should be patted for bringing out some great scenes .

Now the cringe part !! 

1. There was a major flaw in the script..... character arch  ,  single thread line .

Ranbir  characterisation should have been portrayed as a wolf leader ( please read on the wolves ) All the characters of a wolf ... right from the wolf pack formation to eating habits to the way wolves fight or attack !!! 

2. The sister was such a weirdo !! Fail to understand why was she so submissive ? 

3. The BIL had the balls to misbehave with the sister was an extreme take on the character !! 

4.Bobby was superb  for even if it was for 15 minutes.

5.Bobby deol 's mouth piece brother was a total waste and not needed character.. 

6. I did sit through 3.5 hours ! 

7. Ranbir looked sexy and hot in lungi kurta .. ek dance banta tha boss in lungi kurta

The entire film was multiple scenes instead of a story line . Vanga should have given more time  to establish the conflicts , instead of slaps. The sister scene could have been planned out better for audience impact ...  clear msg to protect your sisters , a better prelude . Both the characters of Ranbir and Bobby had a Manmohan Desai movie feeling !! It should have been written down in a better manner ... the airport scene entry was like a karan johar song feeling ek sun naheen sakta   ek bol naheen sakta .... almost could hear the background score of k3g when both the brothers have a face off !! 

The axe scene with masks was unneccessary ... the punjabi song cut straight into marathi song was abrupt . They should have started the marathi bg with Freddy and full blown marathi music with the made in india Cannon would have been an impactful bg . 

The punjabi songs did not go with sequence of events but stand alone awesome music . The prelude of dil hain chota sa medley should have had a good choreographed song on Ranbir... would have been a super hit!! 

Bobby should have been introduced seconds before the interval  with a shhhhhhhh!!! 

 

Overall a mishmash of scenes after scenes with a weak storyline... too much of dislogues and noise !! Some of the dialogues were lewd,  cringe and the 4 days of pad ( entire monologue)was misogynistic .

Production design was great 👍  

Make up hair and costumes had its ups and downs .. the last scene make up of Ranbir was Jesus christ superstar gone wrong !! Fail to understand the obsession for fake long hair with South Indians.  

The naked shot of Ranbir did not have any meaning.... just a caricature of 50 shades of grey to shock the indian audience ( ofcourse which has been blurred off )

 

The movie is a Ranbir kapoor special ...he had given his 200 % most of the scenes he has downright convincing performance.

 This is my first few  viewing  of chinese romantic dramas , it was mushy , romantic - straight out of mills and boon.

Wallace Chung as  the tall, dark, handsome, brusque, broody, tough, shrewd  was absolutely fantastic . He played his character perfectly. The parts were he goes soft absolutely makes you fall in love with him for a lifetime .

Tang  was superb in her role too ... there were some scenes that gave you a heartache just for her .

The journey from a young  love to adulthood was portrayed brilliantly. 

However there were flaws in the script , continuity , costumes and art direction , edits . There were too many repeated flashback scenes. After a point it was very boring . The 31st episode could have been avoided completely , did not add any value to the storyline . 

The main character female lead was flawed in the script . Why do we have to portray woman not so good enough for a handsome , broody ,coquettish man. I disliked that repeatedly Zhao  moshang was addressed as not great , average , stuttering , girl . I wish her return FROM USA  was portrayed as a successful,  calm and confident girl . 

Model Xiao xiao  clothes were bad and her casuals blue and white shirt were repeated  multiple times , same shirt she was wearing even after 2 years . . Yime was  very irritating and till the end remained unexposed .( one of the reasons for moshang to not pursue yichen was what yimie had told her ) I wanted yichen to know about that . 

Secondly moshang "s USA life should have been told only once not multiple times in flashback . Art direction the changed curtains ( by moshang after her marriage ) is shown when yichen is standing and looking  before he married moshang .

The house was cold and unappealing wish they had more attention to art . The treasure magazine interiors was drab and pathetic . 

The art direction and script writer needs a rap on the knuckle . The hospital scene was cringe , it was downright exaggerated. The scene when yichen finds her bags packed for hongkong  was over exaggerated and bad acting . I strongly condemn these scenes as it's domestic assault with legal repercussions.  I strongly detest stories where men are put at a pedestal. Yichen did not treat her well in the second half and any girl with a little bit of pride would have not got married to him.

Can we rewrite the story with these brilliant actors once again.

 In my story the college love remains the same . But adulthood is different . Moshang is a successful photographer,  and the drunk scene with Ying rattles her . Moshang asks for a divorce , and ofcourse the divorce scene remains the same.  Moshang  takes up a short assignment in China as her current employer wants her to do couple of shoots in  China   .( she works for a plush magazine ). Moshang is hesitant to take up this assignment but her boss encourages and insists . Moshang having no choice comes to china . 

Moshang arrives as a successful photographer and has to complete her assignments and go back .  

All are in awe as moshang who never took studies seriously is now an ace photographer. She has cordial relationships with all , but yichen does not know how to approach her cos she has changed a lot . From the outgoing spunky girl she has changed to calm and collected woman . The things yichen use to say and getaway with it , now she no longer responds to it . 

This relationship is of equals . Yichen has to work towards his relationship to get moshang back . Nothing deters moshang , as she knows the fact that yichen will dump her once again .

Moshang who use to blurt out every little detail is now difficult to be read . Ying also pursues moshang , and gives tough competition to yichen . Moshang during  one of thier college meets comes across girls who r pursuing yichen , but moshang refrains to comment or join . Eventually all is well with yichen and moshang .

 Kudos to the team for delivering such a heart-provoking serial. It's great to see something inspiring, completely away from the family dramas.

It's a great drama with the message that no matter what and which country you belong to a soldier is a soldier till their dying day, for the love & patriotism towards the country. The soldier goes with a single motto " to save & protect their motherland. A soldier's family has a lot of courage and resilience, the example of Taimur's mother was brilliant. Overall the serial definitely gives you the feeling of nationalism and patriotism. The training programme ( which is more or less the same in all the countries ) gives us an insight into the drill, discipline and unity of the troops. Wonderfully portrayed and evokes emotion to be a part of the army. Major Usama was a true inspiration of brotherhood, bravery and commitment, the emotions of a soldier, the scene wherein he explains the true meaning of the national anthem gave goosebumps and his demeanour towards his martyred buddy's wife and the child was heart-provoking. The leaked photograph scene too was a great example of how the army takes care of its people.

The call to rise above the call of state borders and the call of the country as ONE is the need of the hour and that should be embedded in us for a lifetime.

But there were a few flaws that were blatant on the face.

The character of Rabia( MAJORLY FLAWED) - who belonged to an army family and her retd col father is portrayed as regressive - trying to get her daughter married for 2 years despite being bright. She not knowing the meaning of the national anthem (it's embedded in the minds of a uniformed soldier and their family ) right from day 1 beginning from the dinner table, reflected badly on the men in uniform of the family. This character ( family ) should have been made a central plot point of the army

I wish Usman Muktar's character Capt Daniyal Safeer should had been better etched out instead of just a supporting and kabab-eating brother. I wish there were scenes between the brother, sister and father, they giving their legacy thoughts, and emotions to Rabia. The pressures an army family goes through when their loved ones are on the front grounds and how they deal with it. ( A common between Rabia's brother and Rabia's Ex)

All the girls were with super heavy make-up despite talking about it during the disciplinary action towards Mahajabeen, It should have been natural and nude. ( could see and feel the cake and maroon lipsticks ) . Arzoo Danial's character was the only one that could be seen without makeup. The costumes especially the drill and camouflage needed more detailing. This area is definitely not space for creative liberty.

TRIVIA :

My heart gives a similar beat, goose bumps and respect when I see my country's commandos, army, navy & airforce in uniform.
